Chamber Orchestra

A cello student plays in orchestra at the Kanack School in Rochester, NY.

Open to all strings, and other instruments with instructor permission.

Students in orchestra study various works for string instruments in small groups, as sections, and as a full orchestra. Students rely on each other in a team setting, so it’s important that students are able to attend rehearsal consistently and commit to the concert.

Chamber Orchestra is open to students in Suzuki Book 5 and up. This group plays a high level of music and helps to develop expression, musicality, and sensitivity. This group mostly performs without a conductor, encouraging more focused communication between its players. Solo opportunities are often available.
