Isaiah Brown
Isaiah Brown is a cellist and improviser extraordinaire from Marietta, Georgia. When he first picked up the cello in sixth grade, he taught himself. Determined to become a musician, he studied with Andy Barnhart of the Kanack School and went on to study at the State University of New York at Fredonia with Dr. Natasha Farney and at Montclair State University with Nicholas Tsavaras of the Shanghai Quartet. He is certified for the Suzuki Method and the Creative Ability Development Method. As a veteran improviser, he is also an experienced proponent of the Music for People program.
Isaiah’s mission is to be the teacher, motivation, and support for students he wishes he could have had when he started playing the cello. Living and breathing the Kanack School way brings him immense joy and he teaches in order to pass it on.
When he’s not teaching, you can find him managing the office at KSMA, practicing, playing with his cat, or enjoying nature.
